Cock o' the North

By keithh
Had a couple of emails this weekend saying that I shouldn't really criticise 'bird' photo's if I can't 'do' them.

So..in for a penny I thought...but what to shoot. Under cover of darkness I seeded the bottom field and using the old outside toilet as a hide I waited with baited breath.
I'd been there for ten minutes and ready to call it a day when this raptor-like **** and his mate turned up. I managed to rattle of a couple of frames before he took to the wing.
Wink

I'm hooked.

Great description Smile oh, and not a bad shot either. I like the selective depth of field.

Ten minutes is just time to get some thunder in the box, but not a place to take a bird. Super shot.

You stayed in the toi....ahh, hide how long? That is some dedication you're showing Keith. This is a very rare bird you've shot (30 mins in a medium oven).

Nice one.

Lol... you seem to be quite popular when it comes to receiving emails.

This looks great, the **** looks proud and erect in his natural surroundings, how did you manage to get it to stand up erect and proud for so long?

What seeds did you feed him with, the blue diamond shape ones?

Great shot of a fine specimen..

I wouldn't say it's a good looking **** Keith, but there seems to be plenty of detail in the larger version ... the normal version looks distinctly average - in fact like most **** pictures [I believe].

Glad to see, it's gone down well though ;-o

I'd expect an "Adult" tag on photos of cocks - terrible!

My kinda bird shot - no need to sit in a hut for 3 weeks with £15,000 of kit getting cold and wet.

Also the name of a fine real ale house in Bradford Smile

Lovely details and like the Dof. You've caught a super pose... He's a cross looking character isn't he! Well caught!
