Coinage Hall

After my quick trip around Newquay, it was back to the hotel for our coach outing to Truro. At the eastern end of Boscawen Street, one of the main shopping areas in Truro is this, the imposing Coinage Hall. The current building was built as the Cornish Bank in 1848 on the site of the old Coinage Hall where twice yearly tin was brought here to be assayed and taxed. Today the Coinage Hall is home to a small number of retail outlets. Standing in front of the Hall is the War Memorial, with a soldier waving his helmet in the air, as if to say how proud he is to have left behind the trenches and returned to his beloved Truro.

Single Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 5 and Photoshop Elements 11.

We went in to Truro on Saturday - it was really busy.Sad You have captured that view of the Coinage Hall very well Trev!

Two great shots depicting the busy area of this fine Devon city. What a pity the Lakeland shop sign catches the eye. Could it not be removed?
