Coire na Feola

By Sue_R
Weather was fabulous here at the weekend so we decided to go up our nearest munro (Scottish mountains over 3,000ft) at long last. We see Ben Wyvis in Easter Ross everytime we travel to Inverness, but have never got around to going up it before.

It was like a summer's day when we set off from the car, but the temperature higher up the mountain was very different. Fortunately we were well prepared but we met a number of other people who weren't and were obviously taken by surprise by the sub-zero temperature at the summit.

Absolutely delighted we made it to the top as this was our first munro since Phil's knee replacement op, just over a year ago. V2 is Phil at the summit Grin

This image was taken on our way back down again, looking out across the Black Isle.

Amazing shots Sue, with a real taste of what it must be like to actually be there. A wonderful atmosphere in V1 and a very real and crystal clear shot in V2. Great to see Phil with a smile of satisfaction on his face Smile

Wish it had been in Chester!! Sad Two super shots here Sue, and though it does look rather cold, it least it's not pouring with rain. And what a super view, too, I bet you could see for miles around Smile

Really magnificent vista from the top, Sue. I wonder how many miles of sight you have into the far distance? Reminds me of conditions here in Norway in the summer with snow still on the highest peaks. We don't have an equivalent name to munro, though.
