Cold Shocked Mill

This old Lead Mill in the Lecht near Tomintoul is a really great place to visit given the right wintery conditions. On this occasion the sunlight added a wee bit of magic by passing over the old mill to highlight it's apparently cold shocked frontage nestling in the blue folds of the mountain slopes in open shade. The expression on the mill still brings a smile to my face.

A spot I know well but not in these conditions because I seldom drove the Lecht road in winter choosing the boring but safer A96 instead. The sun has brought out beautiful detail in the snow.

The mill building definitely looks shocked by something, and after all these years I don't think it is the weather.
