Collioure, dimanche 26 janvier 2003

Collioure may be small, but some of its streets are intimate. I¬’m not sure which street this is, Google maps doesn¬’t really help. Whatever one it is, it is typical of streets in many Mediterranean coastal settlements, designed to be narrow, labyrinthine and seemingly identical, to make invasion or incursion awkward at the very least.

I am not satisfied with the mono version, I feel it needs a distressed quality about, which is beyond my technical means. Any suggestions?

I think working from the original with the pastel colours of the buildings, it is not surprising that you do not have a stronger black and white image. I must say not all black and white films were contrasty and given the exquisite colours on the buildings I would prefer to keep their memory in colour.

I like the pastels and it is quite light so to give it that more gritty, contrasting feel may not be easy or in keeping with the composition Tim.

Collioure is not Burano as the colours are less vibrant, but I felt the image deserved some sort of faded old glory about it. The trouble is, I can't describe it more accurately than vaguely or nebulously.

If you allowed mods than maybe somebody could look at it and have a go. Robert51 is really good at aging images and reworking...

I understand your reaching for words, it's an I'll know what I meant when I see it moment...

I did tick the box at the time of posting. I've tried again.
