A good photo, could only be the Western Isles
Yes, the light is good, winter mid day and warmish. The sun is low even at midday in those Northern Climes. Some viewers may say too warm and yellowish. I reckon a little cropped off the top to lose about half of the rather uninteresting sky probably would improve the balance of the composition and bring the houses up a wee bit.
I've done a mod where I've cropped a bit of sky and the left hand side. This could be considered an improvement as the charm and interest of the traditional settlement is still clear, if not portrayed better, being bigger, there is still plenty of the lovely hill side left to nestle the settlement and we have a better balanced composition... just my views of course,
I reduced the yellow just a touch too.

cheers Ian i had cropped off alot of the sky already Smile Iam not gonna argue with you about composition because that is my main weakness but i rather liked the tree on the left hand side, whats your thoughts cos i wan't to learn

Nice to see this without the reflection. Looks quite good to me, - just a touch more contrast. The foreground shadow I could do without, but without exceptional powers over the planets, hard to avoid. I tried a crop without the tree, - didnt look good, though the composition looked better, - because it also removes the highest peak on the left.

Mod loaded also. To improve contrast, I used the black door on the house as a reference, rather than the bottom shadows.
