Hello Karen! Lovely wild meadow captures and yes, councils are doing more. They tend to do the verges here but some people complain because to manage them they churn the verge up to reseed. The beautiful wildflower carpet is more than worth it!

Very good to see, Karen, I think ‘they’ (most councils) are doing more for this. Some verges under the drystone walls here get left, and the nice council chap who cuts the remainder was happy to leave a big patch of nettles with caterpillars on it last year. Good for the tortoiseshell butterflies 👌 I love to see some huge bruiser of a council mowing guy, with loads of tattoos and gold chains and a punk haircut saying “cool idea, man, I love the butterflies! I’ll go round the nettles 😀 A heart of gold x
