Shot captured last Saturday afternoon while out birding at our local Nature Reserve.
A biting cold wind blew across the Reserve as I lay all huddled up in my hide. I had spotted a Common Sandpiper fleeting swiftly over the surface but on both occasions it proved to be too fast for me to capture and vanished before I could even frame it in my viewfinder. My third attempt proved to be luckier, this time round managing to grab a pot shot as it zig-zagged swiftly across the water against the setting sunlight ..... and very pleased with the frame too. Not easy at all to capture these little swift nimble waders.
Viewing large looks better.
