Companionable Canines

By LynneJoyce
These were taken yesterday during the walk in Bingley St Ives with my friend Sylvia and her adorable (though mud loving) Retriever Rowli. The sequence featuring him in V's 12, 13, & 14 clearly demonstrate why every lens should be fitted with a UV filter and why you should always carry a good lens cleaning cloth.

We met up with two dog walkers and their charges and we and the dogs had a lovely, companionable time. It was an interesting challenge to capture this whilst we and the dogs were all walking briskly and the light was iffy. At least it didn't rain.

Our walking routes are restricted by the fact that more than 1,000 trees are being felled to prevent the further spread of phytophthora ramorum, a disease which kills a number of tree species. The felling is taking place in Betty’s Wood where we usually walk and will remove all the larch and sweet chestnut trees which have either been infected or are threatened with infection. I am trying record the before, during and after shots of this.

Things here are still very tough but as you can see I am getting back into the habit of taking my camera out with me. Life goes on!

Looks like a fantastic day out.
🐕 dogs are certainly good company never complaining no matter how wet the going gets.

Lots of dogs there to keep you company. Plenty of making a fuss of them. Look like someone is going to do some doggy bathing. Lovely set.

Oh Dear! I hope you had a place to allow the retriever to swim off all that mud--

I like the idea of a Doggie Play Date! and a reporter to record their fun!

Looks like doggy heaven in those woods - love V2 especially like they've got the place all to themselves. Great to see you take such car with your presentation as always.
A hobby which is a passion is wonderful to give us a reason to get out of bed.

Looks such a great place to get away from the bustle of everyday life and enjoy dog walking at the same time.
This set will ring back happy memories of a great walk, even if it proved to be a bit muddy.
V 13 and 14 remind me of the day we took Brodie a walk in the forest and within minutes he was up to his midriff in liquid oily mud........what a job cleaning him later.

They do love mud! But I also remember a long-haired dog of mine loving to roll over in fresh cow pats, especially green ones, then standing up to allow it to slowly run down all sidesTongue.
