Confirmation Bias

By helenlinda
This is my Saturday shadow photo - and it needs some explaining

"Confirmation bias" refers to a type of selective thinking whereby one tends to notice and to look for what confirms one's beliefs, and to ignore, not look for, or undervalue the relevance of what contradicts one's beliefs.
So there I was defrosting raspberries to make jam and I put half of them in the shadow from the garage roof on the table, and the other half in the sunshine.
So did the half in the sun melt quicker?
Do we believe that and so notice that more of them are defrosting quicker?

Actually I cheated and put the defrosted ones from the side in shadow on to the other sideBlushBlushBlushBlush

The air temperature did more for defrosting than the sun today - so not surprising that 5 guards fainted on parade at the trooping of the colour in honour of the Queen's Official Birthday !!!

Many thanks to Jenn and Kate for their much appreciated User Awards for Intrigue SmileSmile and thanks for looking
Enjoy the weather SmileSmile

I've no idea what you are talking about but I will defend your right to say it.
Raspberries are not my specialist subject but these look as though they are all going to be delicious - especially in jam.
A very good picture!
