flakeyflower please read the posting guidelines. If you have no photographical comments then don't post anything please.

Quote:When critiquing photos:

Be polite and respectful in your comments. Insulting comments will be deleted.

Remember: you are trying to help and encourage your fellow EPZ members.

Avoid misunderstanding: nuances of speech and facial expressions cannot come over in writing.

Study the image and form an opinion of what does or does not appeal to you, both technically and aesthetically.

Identify technical qualities that appeal or do not appeal: focus, camera shake, lighting, exposure, colour, contrast, composition, depth of field, background, choice of lens, artefacts, noise etc.

Do the same with the aesthetic qualities: describe any emotional response you get from the pic: Visually satisfying (or static or just inept)? Is the eye led in or around the pic? is there a discernable subject? Good balance between subject and background? Any parts of the subject lost unintentionally? Could crop be better? If theres a horizon is it level?

Begin your comments with what you like about the photo. Then go on to what you think needs improvement offering suggestions as to how the photo can be improved.

Do not argue the validity of another members comments or get into a debate on the critique.

There is nothing wrong with saying Nice pic but say why you think it is nice be specific on the technical and aesthetic qualities which appeal.

Do not use the copy & paste technique to flood the gallery with meaningless comments.

Your comments about your feelings on hunting are not relevant to my photos so please don't post it here. Put it in the forum for general discussion.

goes two ways, you've been sarcastic about my photos too, so grow up.
"do not argue the validity of another members comments or get into a debate on the critique" I am not the only person to comment on the dislike of hunting, and no doubt wont be the last.
"describe any emotional response you get from the pic" I gave an emotional response, you gave sarcasm, as to you last comment, I hope your camera breaks down too.

Am I bothered! My reason for being sarcastic was to prove how annoying it was! So if your really bothered about hunting why not write to your MP about the crap hunting law that Tony Blair allowed!

Just thought I'd add my support to you.
Keep uploading these hunting photos, they are great social comment.
I feel that the ban is wrong, after all I come from a small rural community and know how badly people are affected!
As for all the insults you are getting, ignore them, thses people will probably jump on any bandwagon.....then probably go home and use their cosmetics that are tested on animals, hypocrites the lot of them!!!!
