Contemplative

By dathersmith
I can't make my mind up about this one so thought I'd offer it up for your opinion. Taken in natural light with a cool white balance for those blue tones which I thought might work with the top and lipstick (and lovely eyes). Shot wide open on my 70 - 200 for that soft feel whilst focussing on the eyes. I have a square crop too which I like but will save it for another day.

Hope your weekend was good.

Darren.

Like the pose and expression Darren, but not sure what you have done with this as the skin tones look blotchy on the face and edge of the arms. Might be worth another look

I think for me it's the wooden poles behind her that distract a little for some reason. Same shot but without them would have more of an isolating impact I reckon. But a personal thing I feel. I can see what you were trying Darren. The mood and feel is all there with the look away from the camera. I can't comment on the techy stuff as its not my forte but the rest is good mate. A lovely shot

Thanks guys.

Richard, I see what you mean regarding the skin tones so have just had a quick look at the raw file as I heven't done much to it. As expected it's pretty much the same and I can only put it down to the wb I was shooting at. I can improve things by warming it up again but then I loose the blue hue that I was going for. There's a few more with more 'natural' wb so I may upload one of them over the week sometime. Thanks for the input.

Darren.

Agree about the skin tones and the pole in the background - but an excellent portrait, though, Darren Wink
