Award Shortlist

By tomcat
A Great tit Parus major, on an ironstone perch at The Coppice

I was hoping that the 500th upload from this venue, would coincide with the fourth anniversary of the first uploadSmile, which is due in less than a fortnight
Unfortunately the damn weather has put paid to that ideaSad
As it happens we will be away on a short breakGrin, when the date occurs

I have no new material to upload and have become tired with trawling the archives for stuff, that in all honesty I would have uploaded at the time, if I thought it was good enough - that's me!

Popping in from time to time, to give out my UA and have the odd banter on the forumsSmile

Finger's X'd the weather will have to improve, or at least these incessant winds abate

Many thanks to Keith (KBan) for his award given to my last upload, whenever that wasWink

Best wishes to all and my thoughts are with those suffering in the floods

Seems a lot of you are digging in your Archives. However you have some stunners lurking there. A beautiful capture. Your work is always a pleasure to view.
I am shocked every tine I watch Sky news and see the devastation the floods have caused to your beautiful country.
Sorry to hear you are not having much luck with the weather, I've been pretty lucky and found a few patches of sunshine, so I can't complain.
I hope you have a good short break and come back refreshed.
Don't despair!
That's another good shot by the way, so you are a lot luckier than you probably feel right now!

We are all with you Ade, the weather and lack of good light is making things a bit more challenging….. nice to have nice images like this on the
hard drive to fall back on..

To be honest Trev, when I check the forecast it is the wind speed and direction which makes my mind up

The feed station is open to the South, so owt from that direction, which it always seems to be at the moment, dictates my decisions
OK if it is around the 10mph mark, but the location is on high ground and the wind has been a continuous 20mph +

The birds don't like it and neither do I
Topped up the feeders yesterday and was out of there in a flash - 30/40mph winds made it an unsafe place to be - falling branches etc;
Great shot Adrian. Never mind it will soon be Spring. Cathy

The weather is a problem. But almost a year to the day I lost my wife, I struggle each and every day. We all have issues Adrian. I always enjoyed viewing your images, and hope to see new ones soon. Chin up. Remember banter is good. Peter.

Great to see you pop in briefly, Adrian. The weekend was a dead loss here, too, winds up to 60 mph. Calmer this morning, with a little sunshine, but the bugs aren't showing. Carol
