Very interesting to see the differing takes of the same subject by you and Cormy. Both work exceptionally well, but I am a sucker for black and white landscapes. Andy

By putting the very white cottage in the "golden spot" this becomes an outstanding composition which works well in mono.

You and Alan with uploads of the same place - works both in his colour, and this mono. A place I've seen in photographs on EPZ before, but never seen in person.

You are such a typical woman Mavis, with putting all your eggs in one basket and wanting the LOT !! OK,your husband can be your friend and lover, but certainly a strange relationship if he is your neighbour too and lives next door !! Your neighbour could be your lover and friend, but say goodbye to your husband when he finds out !! And that friendship between your husband and neighbour will be ended as they knock ten bells out of each other every time they meet !! No more friendly dominoe nights down at the pub on Monday nights for them !! You just can not have it all you know. You must have too much time on your hands with all this romantic dreaming. It is about time you got yourself a hobby.Get yourself a camera and try this photography lark.Just do not take any pics of your husband, neighbours, friends or lovers,in case you are tempted back into your old ways !!

Mavis I think Mick should write a book. As for the image it is a stunner and makes a wonderful mono.

How well the mono treatment works here, Mavis. Such a well composed image with a great range of tones. Although it has been a sunny day with patches of blue sky, your approach in giving the image an overall moody atmosphere suits the scene so well, but with the sunlit cottage ends standing out so well in contrast. I like this shot immensely....very well done.

Rambling on about neighbours and lovers.....
A family on a train travel.
Boy: look mum, what a cute, small cow.
Mummy: Darling, that's not a cow, its a calf
Boy: Wow... look at those huge.... are these cows in front of that waggon?
Mummy: No, these are oxen, that's why we call this an ox cart.
Boy: And those on the pasture, are these oxen too?
Mummy: these are bulls, but there, on the right, the big crowd, these are cows.
The boy is confused. Can you explain me now, what the difference is between all these?
Well, here we go....
Let's say you are the calf, mummy said to the boy. Than I am the cow, your father is an ox and the neighbour is the bull.

Sorry, I just had to do this.

This is an amazing b/w version from this wonderful place. What would Glen Coe be without its clouds?
