Coy Lady

By klewis
Taken on Cemlyn Bay last night. A pair of adults and one young adder were basking on a rock wall. I couldn't get a better angle but hopefully I will.

Full frame, 100-400mm lens with 31mm extn tube. 1/60sec @ f16

Distance: close enough Smile

Not bad at all Kev, in situ shots are rarely perfect as they prefer to bask close to, and often partially obscured by, cover of some sort. They tend not to pose openly and photogenically!

Looks like this was quite a big female. Your best time for seeing them is early morning (between 7 and 9am at the moment) when they'll be basking to warm up rather than out and about doing their thing.

Nice shot of a lovely snake.

Lee: I agree with you however the sun doesn't hit this location until the afternoon so she probably uses this place to just have a rest after the days hunt. I would say this one was close to 2' long
