Craggy Island!

Sadly the last upload from Craggy Island, and what a day it was. The Weather was a little dull and overcast to start with but brightened up early afternoon. We didn't see as much as we hoped (as there are some really old ruins, castles, churches etc dating back 1,000 years). But I'll be back (I hope) to explore the other 2 Aran Islands to see what they also have to offer.

I'll have to have a look to see where Craggy Island is. Looks very quaint, probably a nice quiet place to live............Sandy

It's known as Craggy Island in the Irish Comedy Series "Father Ted", the actual place is called Inis Oirr (the Irish name) or Inisheer and is part of the Aran Islands, you wan't find Craggy Island on any map.

Father Ted is the funniest comedy series ever to come out of Ireland (By far!) Try and get the series on DVD if you ever get chance, slightly surreal but hilarious!!! The main character, Dermot Morgan sadly died (aged just 46) amazingly the day of filming the final scene of the last series they were ever going to make. I love Father Ted now more than ever! It probably never reached the Canadian/US audience but worth buying the series if you can. It pokes fun at the Irish and the church, but it's hardly offensive!
