Cromdale Carpet

By almiles
Further to my last upload, this was what conditions were like below the mist, wet but no midgies Grin
This is the Spey at Cromdale with it's characteristic metal bridge in the background and the lupins coming into their prime.

It's very seldom we see wild lupins amongst the other meadow flowers and grasses in a landscape f/g, but what a delightful and beautiful f/g they make.
Almost a picture of two halves, meeting on the diagonal, the f/g bright, colourful and captured in fine detail, the middle and backgrounds misty, grey and 'soft'.
But don't they sit together so effectively.
This is one landscape I'd have been so happy with were it my own, and I wish it was.

A rather beautiful riverside photograph, which ticks all the right boxes for me. Furthermore as Ronnie so clearly pointed out it's quite rare too see Lupins amongst other species.

I really like your composition here - the diagonal with the foreground full of summer colour and the background grey and misty with the bridge fading into the distance. Ronnie may have articulated it better but you get my drift...

Having looked at the image and worked out what I was going to say, i found that Ronnie had already 'been there, done that'. The only thing I might have looked at would be tidying up the right edge over the water and not having stems and stalks leaving the frame. Minor point in an excellent image, Al.

The colour nicely softened by the misty conditions.

Thanks Ronnie, Nathan, Ann, Matt, Dave, Dougie and Deep! Smile

Ronnie, you have a library of images we all wish were ours!

Dave, I see your point thanks. I placed them at the edge of the frame bearing in mind your advice on not letting water flow out of frame but they are a bit untidy! Glad to give you something to get your teeth into. Is there no award for being the best mentor on epz?!

Lovely composition and subject matter! I'm a sucker for those flowers anyway and the placement on the back is really nice!
