Cumbrian grit

By mrswoolybill
Back in the comfort zone...
Our week in the Lake District was blessed with occasional whole minutes of sunshine and a lot of very traditional slate skies and gritty rain.
When processing the images I decided it was best to stick with the truth. I have a couple more to come.
Thanks for looking,

They say that in a good year, the slate skies solidify into whole new slate outcrops and quarries...

Buttermere village indeed, just below the church, a spot that we became very fond of. Atmospheric, I think, was the word.
The main upload was taken on the fell just a bit before the village.

The 'truth' has lots of appeal and even charm. A well observed, composed and rendered scene that I'm enjoying looking into very much.

Two fine shots, Moira, love the sign! Grin Rather like in Goathland, sheep wander about all over the place there too, and think they own the roads... Wink

Excellent Moira. In Wales it the ;50s it wasn't unknown for sheep to wander through the front door. As then most where left open.
