Dance of the Mallard

By KingArthur
I had visited the nearby marshland late last May with the intention of capturing some wildfowl shots, late afternoon it was, good soft lighting prevailing. Most of the ducks I could see on the opposite side of the shore, too distant to warrant even looking into the viewfinder. As I plodded along the shoreline, peering in between a dense cluster of reeds, I spotted this solitary juvenile mallard having a good preen. Setting my camera to grab a quickie, the moment the lens cleared the reeds he was up and away in a jiffy ..... I did manage to bag a couple of frames however.

On reviewing the captures back home, I fell in love with this particular shot in which the mallard seems to be dancing on a pebble in the pool ..... eyes glazed on me and awaiting my applause Wink

Quite an interesting capture I must admit, hope you find the shot to your liking, viewing large should look better.

Have a happy weekend,
Joe Smile
