Dancing Ledge

By seven21
View along from the quaintly named Dancing Ledge on the Dorset coast. Apparently a 19th C Headmaster of the local school had a pool blasted from the rock so his boys could bathe safely. The pool is still there today.
Last post for a while as off on the piste next week.

Eric - CW?? please explain - steve

Ian - reference yesterdays danger comment - this was taken just before I ventured too close to a giant breaking wave down on the rock ledge close to the sea in this shot. - steve

Laura - all my past skiing shots have been sudies in blue and white with some tiny dots in the distance! - thanks again - steve

Back to your best Steve! Quality shot - composition, lighting and clouds - all excellent. I had only been researching this place a couple of weeks back with a view to popping down with my camera - looks like i will definitely have to after seeing how good it looks!

I remember seeing a prog on TV about that guy...beautiful place to have a pool (heated, of course)!

Thanks again for all the comments. I might take the small digital on hols but skiing with a tripod is probably not a good idea!

Eric - I do not have the email notification turned on. Understand CW now thanks!

Adam - if you are venturing down there I strongly suggest not climbing down to the lowest level especially when the tide is coming in. Good luck! - steve

Lovely photo, colours are good, only slight problem, the light on the rocks come from one direction whilst the light in the clouds come from an other direction.

Mike / Laurel / Bill - thanks for your comments

Bill - the sun was setting out to sea broadly South West and the shot is taken roughly WNW so I am looking slightly into it. The light is catching the underside of the clouds and the exposed rock surfaces - not sure which part of the shot you are looking at. Only post editing is levels and saturation. - steve

I've never used this Velvia film, Steve is this film only good for Landscapes? or can be used for anything?
