Dark Green Fritillary

By NigelKiteley
Thankyou to all who voted and commented on yesterday's mating Silver Studded Blues, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Went out straight from work this morning to a meadow half an hour from my house. It was the first time i'd been there and i wasn't dissappointed. The meadow was full of these beautiful fritillaries aswell as plenty of Marbled Whites and Ringlets. I only stayed for a couple of hours as my hayfever took hold, my eyes were that swollen you'd have thought i'd done 12 rounds with Amhir Kahn lol!

I will be going back.

Another top quality image Nigel.....What a drag?.....Loving butterflies and suffering Hay Fever, that's quite a cross to bear, but hat's off to you when you keep getting shots of this quality....

Ade
Well worth the suffering to get images like that.

An outstanding close up of this beautiful butterfly, the detail, clarity and colours are immaculate. Hopefully there will be some of these at Prestbury Hill this weekend, along with marbled whites neither of which I've seen so far this year
