Dark Skies Over Chatelherault

By Jmag60
Short History:
Chatelherault Hunting Lodge, building originally completed in 1734, fell into disrepair in 1900's due to coal mining and sand quarrying, subsidence occurred resulting in the shape of the building these days. Historic Scotland began renovating the lodge in the late 1970's and was opened to the public in 1987 as Chatelherault Country Park, now managed by South Lanarkshire Council.

I remember the building as an empty shell with no roof, early 1970's!

Thanks for taking time to look,

It is quite an impressive building and looks good in your image with nice colours plus a brooding sky overhead!

A favourite place and area to go walking. Nice shot, John. You can really see that slope in a full frontal. 😎
