Darmstadt, Germany

By EveLine1
Over the last 200 years Darmstadt, my native city, has hosted various famous architects especially at the beginning of the 1900's during the art nouveau period, Darmstadt being one of the centers in Germany. Almost the entire medieval part of the city was destroyed during the second WW which is a pity because the modern city built up in haste is not particularly attractve. Major sites like city palace, and some of the renaissance buildings have been rebuilt but there is a lot of modern architecture and this is one of the more interesting (apartment-) buildings built by Hundertwasser.

Thanks for looking and have a great evening!

That's a super composition, Viola. It looks as though the elevated viewpoint does reveal some of the older city, though not the rebuilt medieval area.
Unfortunately Darmstadt is one of the many towns and cities in Germany that I don't know Blush
