It's a nice sky and the silhouette adds some interest. I'm not sure what was below this view but it might have been nice to see a bit more of the tree and perhaps a bit more of the scene around it to give more of a sense of the place.
It would be helpful to see more EXIF data as that helps when giving feedback on the camera settings you chose. The picture is quite low resolution, is this because its a tight crop or have you resized it for uploading to the gallery? Despite that, you've got the palm tree sharp and captured enough detail in the sky without blowing out highlights too much.
i have done a modification to darken the image as the sky looks a bit bright and the colours are washed out. I've also changed the colour balance towards blue (away from yellow) and towards magenta (away from green) as it looked like it had a bit of a yellow/green cast.
There is a large dynamic range in this scene, so if you are using autoexposure, the camera will be trying to find a compromise between retaining detail in the tree (with more exposure) and retaining detail in the sky (with less exposure to ensure that the brightest part isn't blown out). Since you are going for a silhouette, the palm tree can be completely black, so it doesn't matter if you underexpose a bit from what the camera is suggesting. This would give you richer colours in the sky. Since you have a low enough exposure that the sky hasn't blown out, you can get the colours back in post-processing by darkening the image.
There was a bright spot in the top left corner which I cloned out as it was distracting. Any bright bits near the edges of the frame are often distracting as the eye is drawn to them and then out of the picture.

For me, it lacks real interest. A personal thing but the shapes are not particularly pleasing. Something else in there to act as a focal point perhaps, although I'm not sure what. The sky could do to be a little darker and have some detail. Possibly the tree taking up less space with a more interesting sky.

Hi Ayesha and welcome to ephotozine and to the Critique Gallery.

Tom has given some excellent feedback on improving this image.
I'd add that when shooting the image consider placing the main subject off centre. This often gives a more relaxing look. However, a bold symmetrical subject can look fine positioned dead centre. Take two shots and compare them later.

Tom has covered the processing, but you asked about changing the editing, so what editing have you already done? It helps in the Critique Gallery if you can describe this as well as uplaoding the original image (you can do that as a modification, just click on the blue Modifications tab above, then on upload Modification).

And welcome from me, too, Ayesha!

Tom's said a great deal of useful stuff, and dark_lord has added some very helpful points. It would be helpful both to see the unprocessed file, and to know what you've done in editing.

On the EXIF data - if you use 'save as' instead of 'save for web' and make sure you upload from a computer rather than a pad or a mobile, then the data comes embedded in the image. It's useful for analysing problems.

I hoep you enjoy the site!
