daughter and father

By frz67
hi all,
thank you all for your comments and votes on my last upload.

this was taken a while ago at an exhibition about the interaction between science and art.
These "statues" are real persons scanned with a 3D laser and then the figure reproduced on different materials by a machine (I don't remember the material of these particular subject). Not sure whether this can be called art.....
The works are about 1 m tall.
the installations had no title, so I came up with "daughter and father" since it was my first impression

thanks for looking and have a great week-end

francesco

this morning I've bought my new toy; composer pro with sweet 35! just give me a couple of days to get used to it Grin

Intriguing, I could see immediately that these were sculptures but couldn't work them out - thanks for the explanation.
The composition does create a relationship - perhaps a sense that the adult is watching over the child, but from a distance. Maybe the feeling we have as we watch children grow up, we want to allow them freedom but still protect them from harm.

Yes,you are correct.Moira certainly has a way of finding the words.
I am like her too, only Moira's words make better sense than mines.
And on that note,is the composer pro with sweet 35,a new lens,
or your order from a takeaway menu !!
Mick.

I agree with most of the above.
Although Chris is actually quite good with words.
I am reasonably good with words but hopeless at choosing which ones to use.
But I do like this photograph which is excellent.
Am I allowed to agree with Moira?
Wink
My new toy goes on display next Wednesday. But it isn't a Lensbaby anything . . . . .

I get the feeling they are looking at each other somehow, and distanced from each other. The statue of the little girl really does look like a real person. Well composed.
I think you will quickly fall in love with the sweet - congratulations on your new toy. No more carrying aperture discs around that get lost...........

'Great isolation of the well-defined subject, effective LB blurring encompassing the distant father in the background of the image frame, & artistic processing & toning,'...Francesco~

Bravo..."Monochrome LB Meister"~~~ Wink

~ Pietro
Like the distance between the images, as always sensitively presented ...well done on the award
Look forward to the new toy
