Dawn at Short Point, Merimbula, New South Wales

This picture is all about luck: low tide coincided with dawn, the seasonal direction of the sun was aligned with this notch in the rock, (the one major feature on this part of the shore) and the skies were clear only for this morning.

Thanks very much to Nathan for pointing out that I had not made the original upload level. Sad The version is level.

A beautiful sunrise which has been nicely captured with a good exposure turning the ebb and flow into softer forms. However for me it is all about the horizon. A wonky horizon instantly kills the appeal.

Hello Nathan, good point about the horizon! Thanks very much for commenting on it. The version is level. Making the picture level is one of the first things I do normally in post but I completely forgot in this case. Cheers, Bob
