Defence WWII

Another one from when I as walking near Aberdeen at Balmedie Beach with my brother and as we walked over one of the dunes we came across this old relic, a pill box from WWII.

As before, this area is amazing area, apparantly it was used for films in days past and its realy like walking into some far away desert. If your up that way there is a car park near this spot you can park in and its only a short walk.

This time I tried to get in closer and show more of the size of this thing, its a lot bigger than it looks in this shot.

It's an ugly thing (but then, aren't relics of war always ugly?), but the sky makes up for it - sky looks great!

Yeh its ugly but to me something mysterious too, its the simple function of it and that its still there after 50 years forgotten and walked past.... I know of a few old gun emplacements near where I live that very few people know are even there. Its like walking back 50 years when you see them...

Great sky again. Comp-spot on, but for me, the wee bit light in the bottom left makes it!

What a fantastic sky! I am speechless. That said, the small patch of light in the bottom left is the subtle detail that truly makes this shot. Whilst I am not a big fan of the subjet itself (what looks to me like a big block of concret), I have to admit that it is an awesome capture. Well done. Click

The subject is very interesting, and the sky is just amazing. I really love the gold light hitting on the sand, beautifully photographed.
