Depending on who you believe and how it's calculated the British isles coastline is between 5.000 _ 11,000 miles, I tend to think nearer the lower figure if you only include England , Scotland & Isles and Northern Island , Isle of White & Isle of Man with the Scilly Isles that would be approximately 7,500 miles ?
They have their work cut out for sure, but they do get a bit of help from the RAF 😊

I think your estimate is probably a bit low. The Ordnance Survey figure is a smidge over 11,000 miles - but as the British Cartographic Society so rightly say "...it depends!".
The RAF are always too quick for me. By the time I hear them they're gone! or at least would only appear as a speck
They do a grand job too though as do the Coast Guard.

The Border Force is part of the Home Office not the Royal Navy so, like the Police, fly a Blue Ensign.
