Define 'Silly'

By dudler
It's Silly Sunday, and here's Professor Clive Chandler, photographed at the Black Country Living Museum. Lively performances a speciality, and no good-natured action too silly. We got on rather well...

Today's blog is very serious indeed, and picks up on a point raised by someone who viewed my post yesterday. The only silly thing about it, I feel, is the way that a limit on the length of blog titles has turned 'trigger warnings' into 'trig' - though that is horrific enough if you can't tell a sine from a tangent.

Have a good day - and please contribute some serious thoughts to the blog.

nothing "silly" about a 20 note busker......might just sound mundane and repetitive. Smile

Great picture, John. Silliness is in the eye of the beholder.

I think I could get on well with him. Memories of days when we could interact like this...

I thought you had taken up a new job there for a second John. Great picture and such a wonderful place to spend the day with camera in hand. The processing really suits the subject.

Unusual for you John, model with their top on.
A splendid period feel to the final edit.

That is a crackin' image! He beams out daftness and fun! Love the gentler sepia type tone rather than B/W, less harsh and more in keeping with that smile.

Seen you have a blog and I will look after I've mooched in the gallery.

I would not define him as "silly" He looks a charming character, not enough of them going about in these grim times.

If it's fun and you enjoy it and it's not harming anyone, do it. Some may think your odd but who cares. A happy looking fella here John.

Ian, I saw his show, and the way it delighted young and old with wonderful and entirely intentional silliness! But behind the show there's a sensible and thoughtful man, which I suspect is the side you're seeing. That's perceptive.

This is a wonderful portrait of what appears to be a man happy in himself and his life.
