Dent Blanche & the Matterhorn

Dent Blanche is a mountain in the Pennine Alps, lying in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. With its 4,357 metres-high summit, it is one of the highest peaks in the Alps.

The Matterhorn straddles the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy. Altitude 4,478 metres.

Photo taken from the slopes of Mont de l'Etoile west of Les Haudères. On its west side lies the Glacier de Vouasson.
