Derby Cathedral

By TrevBatWCC
Back to the Derby outing with Lynne Joyce (and yes, that's Lynne fiddling in the foreground!), this is outside the entrance to the Cathedral. The sun was in the top right, so the front of the Cathedral was heavily in shadow, and a lot of tweaking has been involved here! Thought it suited the mono treatment, but included the original colour version.
Thanks to Trev (achieverswales) for his UA on my previous upload Long-legged photographers!

Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

Wonderful processing in your usual excellent style Trev, it is good to see these ancient monuments, and the Cathedral is good also, only kidding Lynne. Mono for me.

Regards

Trev.

I would have gave Lynne a right mouthful had she been standing in front of a piece of rust I was about to photograph Trev !!
And that is some size bag of kit she has too.
I go on a fortnights holiday with a smaller bag !!
Good shot and colour for me.

Demands a careful look to reveal the depth that you have achieved in this photograph.
And I do appreciate the uncorrected verticals: cathedral towers are there to overawe us!
I do think the b&w works better, Trev. The purplish tone of the ornamental gate strikes me as a bit ott (and yes, I know you had no say in the matter!).
Can't see Lynne's violin, though Blush

YAY Trev, 10/10 for this one, you have managed to make me look slimmer! (Am I allowed to make judgements on that basis)?

Seriously, a cracking shot where the converging verticals work really well in both versions. naturally I prefer the colour one.
