Taken at the County fair in Spakenburg (Netherlands).
Native dresses from this area. They are all different.

Please comment/advise what I could have done better.

Interesting images I would have cropped V1 tighter taking out the barrier. Ted. GrinGrin

Hi Ted. Thanks for your comment. I thought about that, but then I would have lost some parts of the dresses. Should have taken the picture a bit higher, next time..

hartelijk bedankt.....Grin
ok Ik heb mijn nederlandse taal forgetten!!!
I loved these ladies costumes
I sometimes cleaned the Queens palace in Amsterdam when she had a feast... and saw some of the costumes close up
its such a long time ago now but if memory is right each area had its own distinct style
I think my favourite was the volendam one....but my old memory fades on me
any chance of seeing some more?????

An interesting well composed and captured set of images each one with their own merits and areas of improvement. However for me it is the stories that these images contain that is the most important aspect.

Great photography Jos.

COuldn't make any improvements here Jos, Love the regional costums and V4 is really special. The ladies all hard at work. A very happy person in V2. could maybe crop the foot off that is just coming in to the photo from the left, but nothing really detracts from the happy face.

Great to see these photographs.

My favourite is V2, with that lovely smile.

V1 needs straightening a little - see mod.

One at a time is best. They are all different requiringdifferent comment which can get confusing.

V3 and 4 have quite a few errors in composition and technically which reduce impact. 1 and 2 are both good cndid images. You need a higher viewpoint in v1 to get ri of that bed end and a tighter crop but, given tat and a slight contrast boost, I like it best.

Its great to see you out with the camera Jos.

Theses are all very nice examples of a culture we dont see much. I find them all very interesting.

Ive done the usual mods on all 4, hope you like them.

kiThanks for your comments.
I see what you mean, putting aal the pictures together, and then asking for comments. Won't do that again.
The 'sacks' you didn't like and removed they are a part of the scene, (I should have explained, sorry) they are old fashion pillow in an old fashion bed (we call it Bedstede , it's really a kind of bedroom in a closet where people had to climb into.
And, indeed, V3/4 are not that great some pools are in the way, but for the view I had in mind, more ladies in line, this was the only way (of course there are better ways. Now I would do it different. But thanks for your, always good comments.

Thanks Willy for your comments/mods.
Mod one. You right with the light. And indeed could have done some straighting, your right
Mod two. You are right, again, it could be lighter but your mod is a bit to light for me. The crop I can live with it, the poor lady hasn't any feet to stand on, but oke.
Mod three. You are right, again and again, it could be lighter but your mod is a bit to light for me. Something wrong with my eyes along with my ears Smile
But mod four no comment. I like it
Thank you for helping and giving me stuff to think about
Regards
Jos
