Ding Dong Tinmine, West Cornwall.

By natureslight
Ding Dong tin-mine in West Cornwall on the moors above Madron ceased production in 1877 and the engine house was left for nature to reclaim. The rich red colour of the spoil heaps is from the sheer content of the Tin ore. The reds contrast nicely with the greens of the foliage. The area on the left of the image can be seen the remnants of some of the other shafts and buildings which made up the Ding-Dong sett of 16 mines.
