Thanks so much for the kind comments, Lillian, Len and Malcolm. Yes they can be really greedy, and a jug of cold water does them no harm. Trouble is, they return the next day sometimes ;-(. I think you may well have the solution Lillian with the water pistol; will give it a go!

Put some monkey nuts out for him/her............the Squirrels spend ages getting into the nuts and they leave the bird food alone............GrinGrinGrinGrin

Monkey nuts is another name for peanuts, friend. I still love them, but they are so greedy unless they are shooed off the family of bluetits nesting nearby miss out on their food ;-(

Great shot, Dave. Wonderful colour and fantastic detail...
I didn't know anything about lens.. I always wanted to have a small Leica camera, but it costs too much...You have good eye for lens.

Hello Jas, I was very cautious about changing from DSLR but the FZ1000 had such good reviews, and after 4 months of use the lens is definitely the best part of it. OK it isn't removeable, but there isn't anywhere else that does a Leica (Japan assembled) 25-400mm f2.8-4. I was also concerned about using an EVF, but the viewfinder on the FZ1000 is excellent. No idea how they made it so bright and clear. At times I miss a DSLR and the old but wonderful assortment of 1950-1975 lenses which could be adapted, but the Panasonic bridge camera for me is the best around, similar to the Sony RX10 but with more telephoto. Sounds like I'm a Panny rep! I just like it as an 'all-in-one' camera with very good lens, and of course I bought my camera off eagerbay, which saved me quite a lot!
Good times,

Have to agree, Barbara, if it's there, it's 'who gets there first' (until a bit of human intervention!) They are cute, but I have to shoo them off so that nesting bluetits nearby can get some as well.

Thanks Dave. Sorry about my ignorance. I didn't realize that you'd changed camera. I still had the old memory that you enjoyed playing with all kind of lenses..
It seems that nowadays all the good lenses are made by the Japanese. Last year, I had a look of Carl Zeiss's wide angle, it was made in Japan as well...I have never had tried any of good German lens. Sometime I watch the old German documentaries, the photos taken in 20's, 30's are still regarded as 'superb' as today's standard. It has a kind of soft clarity that I can't get it with digital, .. sometimes, I see some images taken with fixed focal lens are closer to it...
All in one camera is very good and handy, I would love to use it instead of DSLR, there is no issue with the quality, only the speed. Good luck to your camera and lens, this is pretty good one!Smile
