Dog in Portrait

By Sus
I'm being a bit lazy at the moment, want to minimise post-processing, so just sticking to the basics. The eyes are not clear enough in this. HOW do you get good eyes in a black faced dog?!

Another very good image in your dog series Sus. Alert pose. Ron.
A beautiful shot: gorgeous subject, nice framing, short depth of field - great. If I was going to be hyper critical, for me, the image is over sharpened, stopping it look natural. Are you sharpening in camera and in post processing? (by default the 350D does capture sharpening) This is a personal taste thing and perhaps you are going for this look deliberately - in which case sorry!

hi - thanks for comments - robin I agree about the sharpening, it looked wrong to me as soon as I'd uploaded it, I am using the sharpening action from lobsterboys website, but I just went ahead with the defaults, and not really happy about how it turned out. I don't sharpen in camera, but when I'm feeling lazy I can get a bit sloppy!
