The mono is more striking I think - gorgeous model and still a lovely look.
I like your framing.
We had a professional photographer (portraits and weddings) in our club - he hated tops of heads cut off -
but I love this kind of framing.

Two lovely images, but definitely the lead for me - the quite high-key mono suits the image very well and I prefer the balance of the crop.

I love the shot, but find the 'object' in the top left a bit distracting (so I removed it)

A lovely portrait, the mono version for me.

The colour version does have the tones of the 60s, no doubt. My preference though is for the b&w version as I feel the high-key effect suits so well.
Leo's mod is also very complementary.

A beautiful high-key image with great details in the eyes. On first viewing, I thought of Jean Shrimpton or Twiggy. (Shows my age group!!) Mono for me as shows her to perfection whereas the colour seems to lose the clarity of the mono.

Hi dudler.

I bet you are happy that ISO can go to astronomical heights sometimes beyond light year 3200. I can not but think the wet plate photographers of the 19th century and the patience of their models to keep a pose (excluding painter's and scuptor's models which are on a league of their own).

===

I am about to photograph an American lady in an Irish bar when she stops me and says "hold on, shoot my "good" side" and turned her face the other way. I wonder if Pippa has a favourite side she pefers to be shot...

If not, I would ask her to raise her left arm (to our right) instead and pretend she is looking out of the window with that look in her eyes. -" Loves me, loves me not".

I favour both colour and mono. Real or realistic...

Agree with Howard...reminds me of BB... Super portrait 😁

BB, or Francoise Hardy Smile
Another era in any case
Might go for the monochrome... except that (I think) you dodged the white of her eyes a bit too much. Still, both are very appealing and have an irresistible early 60s vibe

A lovely portrait John. Must book a shoot with Pippa one day. The B&W seems to be favourite, do like kaybee's mod as well.

Koen, you have a point.

I tend to dodge eyes, for intensity.

you should rely more on their natural intensity. They perfected it during thousands of years Wink
This photo, John, has a very "Bardot" like feel to it. My preference is for the mono.

Eyes evolved, but didn't evolve for dim light in hotel rooms and other odd locations... An old Larry Bartlett printing trick - dodge eyes 20%.

Had to be mono for me John ... I am off to read your blog as my daughter is interested in doing photography and wants to start with portrait work.
