Don't Drink Me!

By RachelMB
This is another shot from the second set of finals for my photography exam ('Boundaries').

This one I liked because you can't see her eyes, so the concentration is all on the lips, the fish and the jewellery.

This is pretty much what I was aiming for with the shoot - an almost advertising appearance to a shot. Don't ask what it's advertising though Wink

rachel interesting & inventive shot. first thing comes to mind is was the fish in any distress? second the arm & wrist watch & for that matter the other object are an unnecessary element could you crop/clone them out?

Good question - No, the fish was not in any distress. As soon as he started to get agitated we popped him back into the pond.

I chose to keep the watch in because I felt that it added to the 'advert' style of the photo. I never actually tried cropping it out though! So I'll try that and see how it looks. Smile

Why not try a bit of a crop on the left too, perhaps level with the ear - though you have mentioned you wanted to keep the jewellery in. That's what I like about PS, you don't lose anything by trying! Smile

I was a bit perplexed by the first one, Rachel, but I prefer this one. I like seeing the full side of the fish and especially like the way the blue blouse has come out as a circle in the glass. The lipstick nicely echoes the red in the fish. I tend to agree about the lh crop, more impactful.
The advertising of a health drink full of omega oil springs to mind !!??
