Donna 1st Session

By ginz04
Can I introduce you to Donna , who answered an advert for models wanted - myself and another ezine photographer and formed a team with the goal being to produce a portfolio of photographs.

This session is our first session as a team , first proper session in my studio, first proper session with my new camera. Donna has only had one session prior to this.

The session started of badly with a studio light smouldering and smoking.

We started off slowly and speeded up after half an hour - this picture is the very first one taken over the next few weeks hopefully you will see more from this and subsequent sessions.

tHE LIGHTING USED WAS 1 soft box set at f8 to our right and 1 hairlight set at 2.8. Backdrop was a black dust sheet.

Happy new year, cracking shot, the lighting is spot on around Donna,s face, but i think its a little hard on her hands, you have captured her lovely eyes really well, click

I think you might have overdone the light on her hands and the sweater 'cos it looks a bit hot to me. The face looks pretty much perfect. I think you might also have a bit too much spill from the hairlight as I can see the backdrop (unless that is what you intended in which case, ignore this !!)

I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on with her

Another fine shot! Just a suggestion, I would see if you could tone down the light on the hands a bit and maybe add some shadowing. The eyes are a great capture, I find them very alluring! Good Job! Spot On! Click!!!

Hi Vic how are you matey - hope you are keeping yourself and aileen well.

We are hiring the local community Hall for our next session and we have in mind to hire a professional studio in the next month or so - probably infotec in marple stockport they have a web page.

The D100 Im still getting use to - i dont find the auto focusing too reliable so am doing manual and I think im going to have to manually set wb rather than leave it on auto as well. Any tips with it will be appreciated as Im still new to digital photography.

I love the pose and a beautiful model . Just a bit pinker in the face and hands and it would be perfect . Perhaps a little reflector light ? x
