Doolin Waves

Taken at Easter at Doolin Point, County Clare, Ireland. I started taking photos of the waves at 7.34pm and finished 8.02 pm (78 photographs later - that's 2 rolls of film! I'm so glad I've gone digital).

The original image was very blue due to the low light so I've made the waves more neutral, adjusted the levels and lightened the waves to make them white. The sky has been enhanced using the various colour channels in levels and hue/saturation channels.

The island you can's quite see in the distance is Inisheer (Inis Oirr), made famous as Craggy Island in the Channel 4 award winning TV series, Father Ted!

Hi, Andy!
Beautiful area indeed. I used to live in Lahinch and I really miss Ireland. Have you ever driven from Corofin to Ballyvaughan. Highly recommended. You won't find such landscape anywhere in the world.
As for the picture - !white balance!

Thanks Tom for your comments. We visited quite a lot of Father Ted Country, from The Parochial House to Doolin (and Craggy Island!) but we didn't visit the road/route you've just mentioned. I've just had a look at it on Google Maps, it doesn't do it much justice I'm afraid, but will give it a try. I'll certainly make a note of it for future visits as we like to visit Galway and the surrounding area at least twice a year. Thanks for the tip, very much appreciated indeed.
