Double Conversion.

By lifesnapper
Hi all and a great BIG thank you for your interesting and diverse comments on my 'Watching & Wondering' image, plus an equally diverse set of six mod's each with their own merits. And a special thanks to our lovely Colleen for her much treasured award, all so very much appreciated.

Continuing my romance with processing, today's image is my attempt at converting a colour digital image to resemble an old black and white film image. Much of the detail had to be sacrificed and a little grain added to achieve this. However, I'm reasonably happy with the result. Smile

All the best to all and have a good day.
I'm off to get my hair cut but will catch up as much as I can later.

All reason to be pleased with the results of this experiment, John.
Detail sacrificed perhaps, but the added grain more than males up for that and turns it into a pleasing view.

Grain gives atmosphere. It says taken indoors, somewhere away from the bustle outside.
I think that this conversion works very well. The essential elements and composition are strong and the tones seem just right. Good work flow here what application did you employ ? GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

No matter how good the modern camera gets, there is a real beauty about picture across the ages and how often we try to reproduce them. He is a case in point your beautiful image has that look of the sixties when mass photography started to take off.

Wonderful job...

'... the added grain more than males up for that ...' (with apologies to Malc!) I think that might be regarded as a modification too far!
A stunning portrait John - lovely texture and the crop works superbly. SmileSmileSmile

Very nice, - lovely subject.

Mod is cropped, black detail lifted in eyes, eyes sharpened a little, soft diffuse glow added.

Like this very much - the tight framing works very well, as has your conversion. Helps to have such an attractive subject of course...
