double horned stealth moth!

By annettep38
thanks for you C&C on the bright tulip. Guess what it was cold and grey again today. Makes me feels a bit uninspired at the moment, I hardly have time, so now that the birds have gone into nest mode and the critters are not out yet i'm left without my favourite subjects. Well nearly Smile

I'm not sure what it is (HelpBlush) some sort of Diachrysia methinks?
I have turned it 90 so that it looks more like the title. Yes, the ISO is high but it was late, after work.

THANKS to Karen and Dave, the ID is Angle Shades (Phlogophora meticulosa)!

A fantastic macro, Annette. 3200 ISO? Wow -- looks nice and clean.

If that's a name you invented for it, it sounds good to me. Yes it does resemble the stealth bomber. Excellent macro work.

An Angle Shades (as Karen has identified), named after its wing shape, so you weren't far out, Annette. Excellent detail at high ISO.

Like this a lot, it has a sense of fleeting fragility, just like a dead leaf.

You've caught this angle shades moth at a good angle Annette, it does look rather like a dead leaf. I'm sure this one will gain the Big O's approval

Bet you would not have spotted this if perched on dry leaves. Nice details Annette.
