Double Tulips in a Pewter Jug

Thank you to those who commented, voted on and awarded my last upload. I am very grateful.

With an interest in Dutch 17th Century flower painting, I am aware how precious tulips were in the day and was reminded of it with this bunch of doubles. They are just beginning to become papery and translucent as tulips do when they are approaching their demise.

The pewter jug works well with the Dutch connection to tulips and
old master paintings. A beautiful variety of tulip Fiona.
Perfect texture too.
I read a book called Tulip Fever and The Black Tulip - amazing how valuable
tulips were.

I have a vase full of yellow Roses atm, I am waiting patiently for them to go over slightly but them seem to be hanging on !!
