I'm afraid I'd describe this as a bit flat, rather than subtle. It's essentially a black and white photograph but it lacks the contrast that black and white thrives on.
The subject itself is strong and appealing but it needs some processing to bring it out. I've posted a mod where I used a curves adjustment to increase the contrast. In particular, I've blackened the castle — I feel that your version is caught between two worlds, having too much detail to be a strong silhouette but not enough detail to be a straight presentation of the castle. You could take the processing further and use the dodge brush to bring out the rays of sunlight streaming through the clouds — use a soft brush with low opacity to get good control over the effect.
