Down under

Rust and yellow lichen are a new combination for me. This was under the promenade along Blyth waterfront, (taken in the same area as Billís End Grain ). I think the square crop works quite well.
More pictures of it will arrive on the site at a later date...

fantastic colours,not easy to find. Geometrically V2 does look better but both are great,up to the individual i suppose,so hard to decide......Mick

Fantastic detail and colours. Both good, but I think the square crop makes for a bolder, more concentrated composition.

Wow, what a dynamic picture. Love the square crop V1 which contains the subject perfectly. Super colours and weathering, all held together by those new screws. The blue background really sets it all off too and echoes the hues on the wood. Superb.

Thanks everyone. V1 is running ahead of V2, but I have to say that seeing V2 against the black backgound I like it better.

Wonderful all those different colours & textures in one small piece of wood.
V1 for me.
It looks as if I might have solved my screen freezing problem...I have changed my internet browser & fingers crossed, had no problems today.
Will try it until the weekend & see what happens.

why on earth does this not have a Premier Award and a Photo of the Week award - it is perfect in every way from technical merit, composition, strong colours and stunning details and the square format is exactly right for the subject. absolutely breathtaking and my eyes are now smiling as a result Grin

A superb study of colour and texture Moira. I like both versions very much, but V1 if pushed - really like the diagonal line in the square crop.

Strong composition Moira. The square crop really enhances the abstract. Love the diagonal dividing the image and of course great texture and colour. The new bolts niggle a bit but also provide a contrast to the decay and rust.
