Dragon

By woolybill1
The Market Place in the centre of old Alnwick has recently been furnished with some elaborate seating made mostly of wrought iron. Each bench is decorated individually with representations of fruits and flowers, musical instruments and other attractive objects. One of them, with a nod to the town's ancient history, is in the form of a Viking longship with this dramatic dragon prow. I believe the idea for the design came from a school.

Mrswoolybill and I both tried to photograph the various seats and benches; due to the shapes and sizes, and more particularly to the fussy background which at the time of our visit emphasised waste bins and delivery vehicles inconveniently placed, only this one of mine was usable. Mrswoolybill assisted me in post-capture by demonstrating the use of the Impressionist Brush on the background; I didn't even know it existed.

The Red-eye stays !!!!!

Pascal - we had gone there to meet someone, photography was only a secondary consideration. I'm making plans for when the weather improves.

The touch of red around the border brings out the red eye to perfection. I'm very impressed with the impressionist background too.

The red eye is great, as is the use of the impressionist brush which I must have a play with sometime.

Beautiful detail and great eye. That 'impressionist brush' is new to me too Bill, but it has a nice effect.
P.S. It looks like we were cross-commenting; while I wrote the above you were commenting on mine Wink
