Dreaming

By aeras
Governors beach is a beautiful beach with various rock formations surrounding the waterline.
The light was not spectacular at that day and the cloud formation was a bit heavy but I felt that the composition was good enough to try a Long exposure.
I arrived there 15 minutes before sunset and I was in a hurry so as to be able to find a composition that I would like.
I was currying my Nikon D800 on the tripod with the Filter holder fitted plus a reverse grad ND on the holder. As I was running around , the holder came loose , and the Nisi reverse grad smashed on the rocky shore. I was really angry with myself for not removing the holder before I go jumping around. I learned my lesson though and bought a Lee filter holder for the 150mm x 170mm. When my wife saw the broken filter she asked me how much would the replacement cost , so I just removed a zero and told her 25 euro Smile

Nikon D800 with Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 @ 14mm - Exposure 150,0 sec; f/10; ISO 100 , remote , mirror lockup.
a single Nef file imported in lightroom , shadows lifted up , highlights lowered , minimal cropping . in PS vignette added , and minor dodge and burn on the diagonal leading to the light , also a minor ORTON effect was added to add a subtle glow to the frame.

another stunning image Charles.
Last year I was running around with my RB67 on the tripod and over my shoulder when that dropped off and fell in the water.
