I haven't uploaded to this site for an eternity so thought I'd add something to the old PF!
This is an image I created earlier this year. It's a concept I've been wanting to try out for ages, and is heavily inspired by the Where the Wild Things Are movie.
The model is the ever-awesome Rosie Hardy (generally found on teh other side of the camera making mind blowingly creative images).
I've created very few images that I can look at and feel satisfied with the final product in my 10 years or so of shooting. This is one of them, and I'm really proud of it.
Hope you guys like it too and thanks for stopping by
EDIT:
Here's what the ephotozine team had to say about why they voted this as a Photo of the Week:
This is a wonderful fairytale image that takes you right back to your childhood years. The sunlight streaming through the trees make the image look like a daydream.
The decision to crop the giant bear's head works really well to create a sense of foreboding scale. The rule of thirds has been used well to lead the eye from the girl up to the bear on the left-hand side of the picture. The direction of her eyes allow you to explore the right-hand side of the image and the depth of field has been chosen really well to represent the trees, but not distract from the subject.
A really imaginative, original and inspired image.
