Drinking Fountain

By ade_mcfade
This is an elaborate watering hole in Roundhay park - it's got about 8 water foutains for those thirsty victorian types to drink from.

not sure whether it works any more, but was recent;ly given a polish by the council.

taken whe out with Tandberg and Warney on thursday - this is mainly a flood of red from the left and blue from the right to give it a -tone effect - with a spash of green on the top.

This works because you thought it out I would say, preparation in things like this does help.

cheers folks - I think the water started the plague Smile

must see if it's still working, it somes out of little shell shaped taps I think...

it is one I thought out Dougie - quite a simple one in a way, just 2 lots of light and a blob on top, it's just getting (guessing) the exposure and how long to keep the torch on the thing that's the tricky thing

bear in mind that each gel gives out a diferent level ofg light too - the blue lets very little through, the red a little more, the green somewhere in the middle

This style works so well because of the subject as the lighting is both inside and outside.

Nice Ade - working out the exposure for something like this must be really difficult but you've done a good job on it. I like the use of the red and blue from either side, not too sure if you even needed the green though.

Its really quite surreal.

Really effective and great vision. How long was the exposure in the end?

Wonderfull shot Ade, I can tell you the water hasn't run for many a long year. I can remember drinking from it as kid back in the sixties, but the taps were removed a long time ago.
