Attempted this photo to go towards my photography project on water.

What do you think?

I like the composition/angle of the flower. I think the background colour is a bit too similar to the flower colour and therefore it is the background and the flower which dominates this picture rather than your real subject the water droplet. To address this I think you may need to neutralise the colour more to concentrate on the water drop - perhaps even convert it to black and white? This would give you the flexibility to increase the constrast on the drop only and further boost it with some heavy sharpening. I will give it go on a mod to see if it works. Steve.

I think this is excellent other than one thing. I would keep the colour as is and definately not go to mono - shows how opinions vary! The only thing is that I'm not sure the droplet is critically sharp - may be the net conversion, but that droplet, on your original, must be knife sharp and the focal point on a tight depth of field.

I think the background colour is OK Rebecca. I always find one of the most difficult things to decide is the background colour. Here you have a very vibrant flower with a strong colour so it is not easy to decide what background to go for. The colour you have chosen tones well with the flower in my opinion and I am not sure I could think of another colour which would suit better unless you go for white or perhaps a grey. There is quite a lot of it though. I wonder whether it would be better to move the flower over a little to the left so it is taking up more of the pic. It would move the centre of the flower out of the corner where it looks slightly cramped and also the water drop would move further to the left away from the middle. This may give it greater prominence in the shot. Worth experimenting.

Good luck with the project

What a beautiful image !......nice idea, with gorgeous colours & detail.....top notch !

Not meant as a criticism, but just my thoughts on creating a bit more impact......would be to crop the shot top & LH side; which would 'enlarge' the subject within the frame & make that water droplet more prominent.....so I've done
a couple of mods. to illustrate my ideas.....nothing drastic, just subtle changes, 'cos this shot is too good as it is !!!!!!!!.....hope you like ?
