Drying in the spring sunshine

By dukes_jewel
Papilio machaon, the Old World swallowtail ...

A walk through the spring alpine meadows - countless butterflies, moths and insects busy in the hot spring sunshine in a cloudless sky. The day before a blizzard struck depositing about 30cm of snow. This newly minted swallowtail (also known as the common yellow swallowtail or simply the swallowtail) allowed himself to be gently handled before heading off across the river.
